Jan de Lichte is a Belgian top-fermented beer. It has been brewed since 2005 by Brouwerij De Glazen Toren in Mere, in the municipality of Erpe-Mere. It is a light straw-colored wheat beer with an alcohol content of 7%. The beer is named after the 18th-century bandit Jan de Lichte from Velzeke. The novel 'The Gang of Jan de Lichte' by Louis Paul Boon was inspired by this bandit.
